EG Kight’s career began in country music, and early on she was dubbed “The Georgia Songbird”. Over the years she has broadened her musical scope to include americana, southern rock, blues, pop, jazz, gospel and funk.

A veteran of the road, EG Kight has headlined at clubs and festivals, bringing her diverse musical menu to the fans in cities across America and in Europe. Kight continues to tour, as a solo and with a band, and has performed with a symphony orchestra, and on NPR’s famed "A Prairie Home Companion“. Her performance of “I’m New At This” from that NPR show was later re-broadcast, as part of the “Listener’s Choice” program.

Kight has shared the stage with a wide array of artists, including Koko Taylor, Hubert Sumlin, Foghat, Pinetop Perkins, Lee Roy Parnell, Phoebe Snow, Delbert McClinton, Gregg Allman, Robert Cray, Merle Haggard, Taj Mahal, Little Feat, the Bloomsburg Symphony Orchestra; and the world renowned Garrison Keillor, among others. Born and raised in a small town in rural Georgia, Kight still lives on the land that’s been in her family for four generations. Her roots go deep, and that comes through in her music. More than just a strikingly rich vocalist, from a family of gospel singers, Kight has also mastered the guitar, gaining the attention of Taylor Guitars, who supplies her with the tools of her trade.

Kight’s brand new release, LIP SERVICE, debuted at #23 on the Living Blues chart, is garnering great reviews, and is already getting airplay worldwide. Her 2008 release, "It's Hot In Here" climbed to #1 on the roots blues charts, and on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Honored with six BMA nominations, twice for Song of the Year, her songs have a universal reach.

One of Kight's original compositions won the People’s Choice Award in an international Peace Song Challenge, and she has written songs that landed on two of Koko Taylor’s Grammy-nominated albums. One of her songs aired on Nick at Nite’s “Glenn Martin DDS” program. Her original songs have just been recorded by jazz artist Jaimee Paul for a Canadian record label, and by the legendary Dorothy Moore. And her songwriting savvy has led her to teach songwriting workshops in Italy and Germany. Transcending musical boundaries, whether it’s a coliseum, a festival, a songwriters club, a blues cruise, a theater, or a summer afternoon at the local winery, Kight’s music fits right in.
