The Midland Theatre Announces On-sale Dates
for All 2008-09 Shows
Tickets now available for most anticipated season yet!

Starting this week, The Midland Theatre begins selling tickets for individual shows for its 2008-2009 Season. Proving to be the best season yet, local audiences are sharing their excitement by purchasing a record number of series subscription tickets. “Even with such a strong opening, tickets and great seats are available for all shows,” states Mike Morris, Executive Director of The Midland Theatre. After closing its most successful season to-date, the Midland and its 2008-2009 Season welcomes such legendary artists as David Crosby and Graham Nash, Kenny Loggins, Garrison Keillor, Ben Vereen, Second City, Kathy Mattea, and Columbus’ own BalletMet. The upcoming season is the seventh since the magnificent renovation and the 80th Anniversary since the original opening of the theatre in December, 1928. Many other great performances, including Family shows, Dance Series, and audience-on-stage Stage Door Cabaret shows are scheduled for the upcoming season.

With high travel and gasoline prices, audiences are looking for more things to do and places to go in their own backyard. The Midland’s promise, to ‘bring the stars closer to home and you closer to the stars,’ has an especially strong appeal for many Ohioans this year. With such quality entertainment so close to home, having a night out and being in the audience of a live performance has never been so appealing. “Many local residents are still discovering what a treasure we have in this beautiful theatre,” shares Morris.

The Midland Theatre is such an intimate setting that performers rave about their time here and love to play to local audiences who are always receptive to the show. “Every seat in the house is a great seat. You can see the artists well and hear perfectly, even in the back row of the balcony,” says Kathy Annarino, The Midland’s Marketing Director. “And with ticket prices as low as $7.50 for Family Series Shows, anywhere from $10 - $50 for Dance Series, and as low as $20-$30 for even our biggest acts – Midland performances are such a great value, you simply can’t find a good excuse to stay home!”

“The Stage Door Cabaret Series is really a special opportunity to come out and spend an evening with friends,” shares Annarino. The audience is set onstage with the performer for a more intimate night of music. Tables are set in groups of four, light appetizers are included in the ticket price and a cash bar is available. “It’s just another great way to experience a live performance and a gorgeous theatre in a new way.”

“The Midland’s Mission is to enrich the lives of audiences today and tomorrow. With a spectacular group of artists scheduled to perform, it’s only through the great response of area residents that a season like this is possible. We're looking forward to sharing a great year with our patrons,” says Mike Morris, Executive Director.
