Known as “A Celebration of the Mighty Zep,” Get The Led Out returned to the Midland for the 13th time, once again playing to a packed house of fans hoping to reconnect with the memories that Led Zeppelin’s music once gave them.

Some in the crowd were catching the band for the very first time. But most let out a loud cheer when frontman and vocalist Paul Sinclair asked mid-show how many “Repeat Offenders” were in the room — his nickname for fans who keep coming back for more.

There’s something about a GTLO show that’s genuinely addictive, though it’s hard to say exactly why. I count myself among the repeat offenders too, having now caught the band four times. I got my start covering them as the Midland’s house photographer, but I won’t pretend my return visits have been purely professional. What the band does — not just recreating Led Zeppelin’s music, but transporting listeners back to the exact moments they first heard those songs, reviving memories long tucked away — is nothing short of artistry.
