Every seat tells a story. This afternoon, a gentleman joined us for one of our Summer Movies and shared a memory that stopped me in my tracks.He met his wife right here in 1965, while watching Blue Hawaii. She was sitting in the third row, and he sat behind her—tapping on the back of her seat to get her attention. Later that week at school, she told him he was lucky she didn’t slug him. That spark turned into dating, then marriage, before he left to serve in Vietnam.After his service to our country, they returned home to Newark to build their life together. She’s no longer with us, but his memory of that beautiful redhead in the third row lives on.Moments like these remind us that the Midland isn’t just a building—it’s a place where stories begin and love lingers.

@bigbadvoodoodaddyofficial brought the swing, the swagger, and plenty of good vibes to the stage last night and judging by the crowd, nobody was letting a little muggy, steamy Ohio summer weather get in the way of a great night out. Thanks to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable night. We’ve got some great shows to announce very soon, so keep your eyes on The Midland for those announcements, on-sale dates, and more. And if you’re not already an Annual Fund Member, now is a great time to consider joining.
